Learn what drinks surround you on the trails of Mission Tejas, and how these unique tonics fit into Texas history!

Learn to forage, dry, and roast some of the native and naturalized plants found here at Mission Tejas.

- For those without plant allergies who wish to, we can even taste some prepared by our Interpretive Ranger!

- The history of these drinks and the groups who harvested and utilized them will be up for discussion. Offerings will include Yaupon leaf tea, American Holly leaf tea, Pine straw tea, and blackberry leaf tea. Meet behind the park HQ near the Rice Log Home.

Bring water if you wish, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, and an open mind and palette!

*Attendance to this event is open to the public and free after regular day use or camping fees.
